Allah, göklerin ve yerin Nur'udur. Onun nurunun örneği, içinde çerağ bulunan bir kandile benzer. Kandil, bir sırça içerisindedir. Sırça, inciden bir yıldız gibidir ki, doğuya da batıya da nispeti olmayan bereketli bir zeytin ağacından yakılır. Bu ağacın yağı, neredeyse ateş dokunmasa bile ışık saçar. Nur üzerine nurdur o. Allah, dilediğini kendi nuruna kılavuzlar. Allah, insanlara örnekler verir. Allah herşeyi bilmektedir.

Allah göklerin ve yerin nuru(nun kaynağı)dır. O'nun nurunun sembolü, içinde kandil bulunan bir ışık mahalli gibidir. O kandil kristal bir fanus içindedir. Öyle bir fanus ki, sanki inci gibi (parıldayan) bir gezegen. O kandil, doğuya da batıya da ait olmayan mübarek bir zeytin ağacından elde edilmiş bir yakıtla tutuşturulur. Öyle ışıltılı bir yağ ki, neredeyse ateş değmeden bile ışık saçacak: nur üstüne nurdur! Allah, isteyeni nurunun (peşine takarak) doğru yola iletmeyi diler. İşte Allah insanlara böyle misaller vermektedir: zira her şeyi en ince ayrıntısına kadar bilen yalnızca Allah'tır.

GOD is the light of the heavens and the earth. The allegory of His light is that of a concave mirror behind a lamp that is placed inside a glass container. The glass container is like a bright, pearl-like star. The fuel thereof is supplied from a blessed oil-producing tree, that is neither eastern, nor western. Its oil is almost self-radiating; needs no fire to ignite it. Light upon light. GOD guides to His light whoever wills (to be guided). GOD thus cites the parables for the people. GOD is fully aware of all things.
