Sonra onların peşinden (başka) elçilerimizi de getirdik; peşlerinden de Meryem oğlu İsa'yı getirdik ve ona İncil'i verdik; ve ona uyanların kalplerine şefkat ve merhamet yerleştirdik. Ama ruhbanlık başka... Onu kendilerine emretmediğimiz halde onlar uydurdu, gerekçesi de Allah'ın rızasını kazanmaktı; fakat onun gereklerine de hakkıyla riayet etmediler ya... Neticede Biz onlardan iman eden kimselere karşılıklarını verdik; fakat yine onlardan bir çoğu yoldan saptılar.

Subsequent to them, we sent our messengers. We sent Jesus the son of Mary, and we gave him the Injeel (Gospel), and we placed in the hearts of his followers kindness and mercy. But they invented hermitism which we never decreed for them. All we asked them to do was to uphold the commandments approved by GOD. But they did not uphold the message as they should have. Consequently, we gave those who believed among them their recompense, while many of them were wicked.

But they invented Monasticism which We never decreed for them. They wanted to please God, but they did not observe it the way it should have been observed. Consequently, We gave those who believed among them their recompense, while many of them were wicked.
