Ve eğer borçlu akli ve bedeni bakımdan yetersizse ya da kendisi kaydettirecek durumda değilse, o zaman onun velisi borcunu adil bir şekilde kaydettirsin! Ve erkeklerinizden iki kişinin şahitliğine başvurun! Eğer iki erkek bulunmazsa, bu durumda doğruluğundan emin olduğunuz kimselerden bir erkekle iki kadını şahit tutun ki ikisinden biri şaşırır, unutur, yanılırsa diğeri ona hatırlatabilsin! Ve şahitler de çağrıldıklarında kaçınmasınlar! Küçük büyük olduğuna bakmaksızın, vadesiyle birlikte yazmaya üşenmeyin: Bu Allah katında daha adil, isbatlama açısından daha güvenilir kuşkuya kapılmamanız açısından daha uygun olandır. Fakat eğer ticari işleminiz aranızda karşılıklı peşin muameleye dayanıyorsa, onu belgelememenizde size herhangi bir vebal yoktur. Birbirinizle alışveriş yapacağınız zaman şahit bulundurun; ancak yazan da şahit de bir zarara uğramasın! Zira eğer zarar verirseniz, işte bu aleyhinize bir çıkış olacaktır. Allah'a karşı sorumluluğunuzun bilincinde olun; zira Allah sizi eğitiyor: zaten her şeyi en iyi bilen de Allah'tır.

O you who believe, when you transact a loan for any period, you shall write it down. An impartial scribe shall do the writing. No scribe shall refuse to perform this service, according to GOD's teachings. He shall write, while the debtor dictates the terms. He shall observe GOD his Lord and never cheat. If the debtor is mentally incapable, or helpless, or cannot dictate, his guardian shall dictate equitably. Two men shall serve as witnesses; if not two men, then a man and two women whose testimony is acceptable to all. Thus, if one woman becomes biased, the other will remind her. It is the obligation of the witnesses to testify when called upon to do so. Do not tire of writing the details, no matter how long, including the time of repayment. This is equitable in the sight of GOD, assures better witnessing, and eliminates any doubts you may have. Business transactions that you execute on the spot need not be recorded, but have them witnessed. No scribe or witness shall be harmed on account of his services. If you harm them, it would be wickedness on your part. You shall observe GOD, and GOD will teach you. GOD is Omniscient.,

O you who believe, if you borrow for a future period, then you shall record it. And let a scribe of justice record it for you; and let not the scribe refuse to record as God has taught him. Let him record and let the person who is borrowing dictate to him, and let him be aware of God, and let him not reduce from it anything. If the one who is borrowing is immature or weak or he cannot dictate himself, then let his guardian dictate with justice; and bring two witnesses from among your men; if there are not two men, then a man and two women from whom you will accept their testimony, so that if one of them becomes blindsided, then the one can remind the other. And let the witnesses not refuse to come if they are called. And do not fail to record it no matter how small or large until its maturity. That is more just with God and better for the testimony, and better that you do not have doubts; except if it is a trade to be done on the spot between you, then there is no sin upon you if you do not record it. And have evidence if you trade. No scribe shall be harmed nor any witness; for if you do so then it is a wickedness on your part, and be aware of God and God teaches you and God is aware of all things.

Have witnesses/evidence if you trade. No scribe shall be harmed nor any witness; for if you do so then it is vileness on your part. Be conscientious of God so that God teaches you; and God is aware of all things.

Ey inanca çağırılanlar! Belirli bir süre için birbirinize borç verdiğinizde yazın. Aranızdan bir yazıcı, doğru olarak yazsın. Yazıcı, Allah'ın kendisine öğrettiği biçimde yazmaktan kaçınmasın; yazsın. Üzerinde yetki olan da yazdırsın. Efendisi Allah'a yönelik sorumluluk bilinci taşısın ve ondan hiçbir şey eksiltmesin. Üzerinde yetki olan kişinin aklı ermiyorsa veya umarsızsa veya yazdırmaya gücü yok ise velisi adaletle yazdırsın. Erkeklerinizden iki kişi tanıklık etsin. İki erkek bulamazsanız, tanıklardan uygun bulacağınız bir erkek ve biri unutursa diğerinin hatırlatacağı iki kadın olsun. Tanıklar çağırıldıkları zaman kaçınmasınlar. Az olsun çok olsun, süresiyle birlikte yazmaktan kaçınmayın. İşte böylesi, Allah'ın katında daha adaletli, tanıklık yönünden daha sağlam ve kuşkuya düşmemeniz için daha uygundur. Alışveriş yaptığınızda, aranızda devredip durduğunuz ve peşin yaptığınız ticaret dışında tanık bulunsun. Yazana da tanığa da dokunca verilmesin. Eğer bunu yaparsanız, aslında bu, sizin yoldan çıkmanız demektir. Allah'a yönelik sorumluluk bilinci taşıyın. Allah, size öğretiyor. Çünkü Allah, her şeyi Bilendir.[58]
